Kroenke Sports & Entertainment insist they have absolutely no intention of selling Arsenal amid mounting speculation that Spotify founder, Daniel Ek, is set to launch a takeover bid.

The Swede, valued at £3.4billion by Forbes, announced his plan in audacious fashion via Twitter last Friday while several thousand supporters protested outside the Emirates Stadium ahead of Friday night’s defeat against Everton.

‘As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring,’ he wrote.

KSE assumed total control of Arsenal in August 2018, not long after the departure of long-serving manager Arsene Wenger.

Confidence in their running of the club has slowly whittled away, however, despite significant investment in the team, with the Gunners now staring down the barrel of a first season without European football since 1995/96.

Arsenal’s decision to combine forces with 11 other rebel clubs and join the breakaway, and already defunct, European Super League represented the straw that broke the camel’s back for a fanbase which has become increasingly dissatisfied with matters both on and off the pitch.

Despite the growing unrest, Arsenal’s current owners insist they have no intention of selling up and maintain they are ready to back manager Mikel Arteta in the summer transfer window.

‘In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club,’ an official statement read.

‘We remain 100% committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the Club. We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.

‘Our ambition for Arsenal remains to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game & our focus remains on improving our competitiveness on the pitch to achieve this.’

Ek, meanwhile, is scheduled to outline his intentions in an interview set to be aired by Sky on Wednesday.
