Krept stabbed: Konan speaks out on star's condition after stabbing at BBC Radio 1Xtra Live


Krept and Konan star Konan, 30, real name Karl Wilson, informed his 204,000 Twitter followers Krept, 29, AKA Casyo Johnson, was “good” following the stabbing in Birmingham.

“Bros good,”(sic) he tweeted simply, prompting fans to express their relief in the comments.

The comment comes after it was revealed a man, reported to be rapper Krept, was slashed backstage at the 1Xtra show.

In a statement, BBC Radio 1 said: “Following an isolated serious incident, we have had to stop 1Xtra Live in Birmingham.

“We are co-operating fully with the police to establish what has happened.”

Sources told the publication a brawl started backstage at the event which resulted in Krept being slashed.

The rapper didn’t not need further medical treatment, the report said.

Krept has yet to speak out following the incident.

West Midlands Police tweeted a statement regarding the assault, writing in view of their 173,000 followers: “Security @ArenaBirmingham alerted us to an assault which took place in the backstage area at 10pm on Saturday.

“It’s understood that a man sustained a slash wound during the assault.

“He was treated by on site medical stage and did not require treatment,” they said.

1Xtra later apologised to ticket holders, saying: “We’re sorry to everyone who attended 1Xtra Live in Birmingham for the early finish, however the health and safety of everyone involved is always our top priority.

“We are upset and saddened that something like this should happen to a guest at one of our events and we remain in case contact and continue to offer our full support.”

The line-up for the show included the likes of Aitch, French Montana and Ms Banks.

Krept and Konan released their breakthrough mixtape, Young Kingz, in 2013 and later dropped their debut album, The Long Way Home, in 2015.

The album’s lead single, Freak of the Week, marked their first top 10 hit.

In 2017, they became the first British act to release two mixtape on the same day, 7 DAYS and 7 NIGHTS, and have both enter the top 10 on the UK Albums Chart.

This summer, they released the new single, I Spy, from their upcoming album.

Krept and Konan are known for extensively collaborating with other artists on the hip hop scene.

Their collaborators include the likes of Skepta, Tinie Tempah, French Montana and Stefflon Don.
