KPMG promotes a trio of directors in Scotland



KPMG UK has promoted three colleagues in its Scottish offices across key growth areas for the business.

Steven Murdoch has been promoted to director within KPMG’s Deal Advisory Tax team in Glasgow.

He joined the professional services group as a graduate in 2007 and works with a range of UK and international clients across several industries, specialising in tax advice on deals and restructurings.

Daniel Crighton is promoted to director within KPMG’s Audit practice.

Based in Aberdeen, he has experience working with upstream oil and gas clients, having joined the firm in 2010 as a graduate.

Wiqas Qaiser becomes director in the Financial Services Audit team and is based in Edinburgh.

He looks after asset managers and various investment products, such as open and closed ended funds, private equity and pension funds.

Qaiser started his career at KPMG in Pakistan before moving to the firm’s London office in 2012 and then Edinburgh in 2014.

James Kergon, Scotland senior partner at KPMG in the UK, said: “These promotions show the strength and depth of our senior team across the firm in Scotland, and I’m delighted to see Daniel, Steven and Wiqas take this important next step in their careers with KPMG.”

John Waterson, head of financial services audit at KPMG UK in Scotland, added: “We’ve invested a huge amount in the audit practice and continue to ensure audit quality and our people are our top priorities.”

KPMG UK now employs around 1,000 people across its offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
