The Kardashians may be one of the most influential families on our planet, but they’re not exactly relatable. From their wildly extravagant lifestyles (Kylie is currently celebrating her 22nd birthday bash on a $250 million superyacht in Italy), to their highly sculpted bodies, the Kardashians have carefully curated their public image and they’ve been owning it since 2002.
But, in an unlikely turn of events, Kourtney has removed the world-famous filter and bared all. In an unfiltered photo uploaded to her lifestyle brand Poosh’s Instagram, Kourtney is living her best life on a boat in Italy. Aside from looking a million dollars in a cut-out Kai Lani black swimsuit and Janessa Leoné boater hat, Kourtney proudly showed off her visible stretch marks and we are feeling empowered AF.
At a time when the picture-perfect world of social media is crippling people’s self-confidence, Kourney’s honest and relatable post is everything the world needed. “Oh wow not air brushed. You can actually see her stretch marks and this is what a real body looks like! I love it,” wrote one fan, while another revelled in the positive message of the post: “Those stretch marks are giving me life & helping me embrace mine. So gorg”, said another. One user even praised the image for making “us all feel a bit less bad about ourselves”.
As the flood of positive comments continued to stream in, Kourtney responded to one by voicing her love for her stretch marks. “I love my little stripes,” she wrote under a comment with a smiley face emoji.
If Kourtney can embody this zero f*cks attitude with the whole world watching on, then we can absolutely do it, too (admittedly without the fancy boat and enviable backdrop, sigh).
