KISS, Biffy Clyro and System Of A Down will be headlining Download festival in 2021.

The annual music event was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic this year, with KISS, Iron Maiden and System Of A Down set to appear.

And luckily, most of the artists due to perform in 2020 will be returning next year (all hail the music gods).

Revellers can head to Castle Donnington, Derby between 4 June and 6 June, 2021, to catch all the action.

Alongside the headliners will be acts like A.A. Williams, A Day To Remember, Airbourne, Alestorm, Anchor Lane, Baroness, Blackout Problems, Black Veil Brides, Bleed From Within, Blues Pills, Bokassa and Bush.

Download 2020 was cancelled back in March because of the coronavirus crisis, with organisers saying: ‘We’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation and it’s become clear that it just isn’t possible for the 2020 festival to go ahead.

‘This decision hasn’t been taken lightly and we’re beyond disappointed. We extend our heartfelt apologies to all of you – we really did try to make this work.

‘Please rest assured we will be back next year.’

Music fans will see some major changes to the festival next year, thanks to a new village and campsite layout.

Download has become synonymous with rock music in the UK since it formed in 2003, playing host to names like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Metallica and more

The festival has since birthed sister festivals in France, Spain, Australia and Japan in recent years.

Revellers who bought tickets for 2020 can carry their tickets over to 2021.

Otherwise, tickets for next year go on sale on 7 August at 9am here.
