Kim Kardashian swears by this £21 pencil for perfect brows

Kim Kardashian gets an A+ when it comes to her makeup game. As for red carpet moments? Whew. She steps it up every time. It may have been a minute since she shut down the Met Gala with her Marilyn Monroe transformation, but we’re still not over the beauty look she put together with her makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic.

Her cool 2022 homage to one of the most iconic beauty muses in history is a moment to remember, and Kim implemented some subtle (and not so subtle) beauty tweaks, to bring the look into the 21st century. For starters, she switched out Marilyn’s frothy bob for a sleek button bun, she opted for a low-key nude lip in place of the Hollywood red shade Marilyn made her signature, and instead, she made beautifully defined, medium contrast brows the centre of her beauty look.

In fact, ever since dying her hair milky blonde, Kim’s brows have had to work harder to ground and define her features without her dark hair framing her face. And, as with most dramatic hair colour switch-ups, her makeup has had to change accordingly, including finding a new brow shade to work alongside her fresh take on platinum.

Luckily, Mario, shared the exact product and shade he used to perfect Kim’s brows on his Instagram. The makeup artist shopped his own stash, using the Master Blade Brow Pencil (£21) in Dirty Blonde from his own Makeup By Mario makeup range, to fill in brow strokes, before setting everything in place with the Master Hold Brow Gel (£19). The dirty blonde shade kept things deep enough to complement Kim’s dark features, create definition and offer a contrast to her white blonde hair, but light enough that it worked cohesively with her new hair colour.

Mario also shared all the other makeup credits from the night, taking a moment to express how much it meant to him to be included in Kim’s Marilyn transformation. “So honored to have been a small part of this iconic moment ♥️ ,” he wrote in the post. “Marilyn and her makeup artist, Whitey, have always been huge inspirations to me since I started my career as a makeup artist. To have this opportunity to do Kim’s makeup while she was wearing Marilyn’s iconic dress is a moment I’ll never forget.”

Since then, Ariel Tejada, another of Kim’s fave makeup artists, has continued on the work, creating another dirty blonde brow look for Kim who revealed she’ll be sticking with the blonde for “a while”.
