Kim Kardashian says that Kanye West likened her to a ‘cartoon character’ after she dressed herself without his styling tips.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim revealed that her ex Kanye compared her to Marge Simpson after she attended her first event without his styling advice – the Wall Street Journal Magazine Innovator Awards back in October 2021, approximately nine months after the pair split. Kim wore a brown leather dress, by her brand Skim’s collaboration with Fendi, paired with matching gloves, snakeskin boots, Tiffany & Co. jewels, and her trademark smokey eye and nude lips.
Throughout their relationship, Kanye famously served as Kim’s stylist, even clearing out her wardrobe at the start of their relationship and completely revamping her style. Dressing herself without his advice has caused her anxiety, Kim revealed in the 11th May episode.
“I got to a point where I would just, like, ask him for advice for everything even down to what I wear. Even now I’m having like panic attacks like, ‘What do I wear?’” Kim said to her sister Kourtney.
Speaking about styling for the WSJ Awards, Kim said: “I was like, how do I wear something that hasn’t been pre-vetted first?”, adding that she was “so nervous” at the thought of wearing a “bad outfit.”
Kim added that Kanye called her up about the awards, saying: “He told me my career is over and he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar.”

In her confessional, Kim Kardashian added, “I always just trusted him, but it is not just about the clothes. That was the last thing we really had in common […] I was always the Kardashians with my sisters. Then I was Kimye. Who is Kim K? That is the jump. How do I get there without Kanye?”
Surprisingly, it’s not the first time Kanye has compared Kim to a cartoon character. In his first confessional for Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2019, he compared her to Mrs Incredible/Elastigirl from The Incredibles.
He said, “The wife got a big butt, and I just see our life becoming more and more and more like The Incredibles until we can finally fly.” Just wow.
