UFC star Conor comes from a line of Irish MacGregors who originate from the Scottish clan.

Conor McGregor welcomed Kim Kardashian into the family

McGregor took to social media to reach out to his long-lost relative. He tweeted: “Welcome to the family.”

Kim herself also appeared to approve, tweeting a picture of three crowns and a link to the story to her thousands of followers on Twitter.

Scottish journalist and researcher Craig Williams first delved into the Kardashian family history after reading that Kim’s elder sister Kourtney Kardashian, 40, named her daughter Penelope Scotland Disick.

The middle name is believed to be a homage to mum Kris’family history.

Kim’s great-great-great gran on her mum Kris Jenner’s side was Margaret Elizabeth Magee.

Margaret’s great-great-great-great-great grandfather was Thomas MacGee, who was born in 1645 in Scotland and emigrated to the US.

Thomas Magee was originally called Thomas MacGregor but changed his name when the clan was banned in the aftermath of the civil wars of the time.

Magee emigrated to Virginia in 1670 and was a relation of Rob Roy, who was born in 1671.

McGregor has previously spoken about his family’s Scottish heritage and love for the country.

In 2017, he said: “We go way back here, way back. I love it here.”
