Kim Kardashian has denied hooking up with Travis Barker, calling the rumour a ‘false narrative’.
Blink 182 drummer Travis has been in a relationship with Kourtney Kardashian since January, and the couple have been hot and heavy ever since, with Travis even calling the reality star the love of his life’.
So, it was pretty scandalous when Travis’s ex-wife Shanna Moakler claimed that she ‘caught him having an affair with Kim’ years ago, and even more so when an Instagram story from Aubrey O’Day emerged alleging that Kim had hooked up with the drummer at a Fourth of July party.
However, Kim, 40, has now set the record straight.
While fielding questions from fans on Instagram while she got her nails done, Kim was asked: ‘Did you hook up with Travis Barker?’
The mum-of-four, who filed for divorce from Kanye West in February, wrote: ‘NO! False narrative! We’ve been friends for years and I’m so happy for him and Kourt.’
Travis, 45, has long been close to the Kardashians as he lives in Calabasas, just like the first family of reality TV.
However, the Kim rumour was sparked earlier this month, when Travis’s 15-year-old daughter Alabama shared screenshots allegedly sent to her by her mother Shanna.
One message read: ‘I divorced Travis because I caught him having an affair with Kim.’
Shanna, 46, who was married to Travis between 2004 and 2006, later accused the Kardashians of ‘destroying my life twice’.
Adding fuel to the fire, an Instagram story shared by Danity Kane star Aubrey O’Day in July 2020 suggested that Kim had been ‘hooking up’ with Travis at a previous Fourth of July party, although didn’t specify the year.
She wrote: ‘I was ‘bffs’ with Kim Kardashian during a fourth [of July].
‘She was hooking up with Travis Barker and we were at his house.. he was really dope.’
Travis had previously denied having a thing with Kim in his 2015 book Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums.
He wrote: ‘We went to dinner, we went to lunch. You might think I would be doing the worst things with this girl because of her tapes, but it was the exact opposite of any other encounter I’ve had with a woman: with Kim, I wanted to be nothing but a gentleman to her. It was so weird.’
However, the rocker did admit in an interview with Us Weekly that he had checked the sister of his now-girlfriend out, saying: ‘How could you not stare at Kim? Mind you, I enjoyed hanging out with Paris [Hilton], but I love curvy girls. Kim was eye candy. I was in no way disrespectful to Paris, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off Kim.’
For now, though, it seems Travis only has eyes for Kourtney, 42.
The musician has got his girlfriend’s name inked on his chest, while Kourtney tattooed ‘I love you’ onto his forearm.
