Warning: This story contains spoilers for the Killing Eve season two finale.
Killing Eve brought fans to their knees as Villanelle (played by Jodie Comer) shot Eve (Sandra Oh) in the final scenes of season two.
If the previous seasons are anything to go by, season three is going to be as stressful as the previous.
However Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw) may be the secret enemy in the upcoming third season of the show.
While fans of the show have been theorising about Carolyn’s true intentions, the actor has recently spoken out about the show.
Speaking to Daily Star, she announced: “You never know what the characters are thinking.
“There’s always the potential of great charm but the characters are not vulnerable to the charms of humour.”
If Fiona’s words are to be believed, fans of the show may not have the entire picture of Carolyn’s character just yet.
Viewers saw Carolyn working alongside Konstantin (Kim Bodnia) in a strange turn of events – but does this prove she isn’t a good guy?
Fiona went on to add: “They can be quite hostile with humour and nothing is very clear.
“It’s the ambiguity that is the permanent knife edge on which the show works.”
Viewers do not yet know what to expect from Killing Eve’s third season, but with Eve presumably in critical condition, it will certainly begin with a bang.
Recently Villanelle star Jodie spoke about the tense scenes involving Julian (Julian Barrett).
She explained things got “a bit crazy” but added those scenes were the “highlight” of the series.
Jodie went on to explain: “It was honestly like the best episode to film, Julian [Barratt], he’s incredible. We had the most fun.
“You know when the crew’s giggling mid-take that you’re like ‘we’ve all lost it here’. We all went a bit crazy.”
Jodie went on to add: “I think we were in that house for a week and it was the one week of sun that we had and it was so ridiculously hot.
“If you’re locked in a set for long enough, everyone goes a bit crazy. Crazy to begin with then it just gets out of hand.
“It’s so nice when you can tell that the crew are inspired by what they’re seeing and it makes you want to do your best work but yeah that was definitely my highlight of series two.”
Fans will have to wait to find out how season three tops the harrowing scenes made in season two.
