Kiernan Shipka becomes Queen of Hell but coven and relationship with boyfriend hang in the balance in Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: Part 3 trailer

Being the Queen of Hell is not all it’s cracked up to be.

Kiernan Shipka was featured in the Netflix‘s Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: Part 3 trailer as her titular character has to find a way to balance school, a boyfriend, and ruling the place of the condemned.

The 21-year-old star – in her role as the titular witch character Sabrina Spellman  – is haunted by the end of last season which involved her boyfriend Nicholas ‘Nick’ Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood) sacrificing himself to hell in order to defeat her father Lucifer (Luke Cook).

Despite defeating Lucifer, Nick remains in hell under Madam Satan’s (Michelle Gomez) eye and Sabrina along with her mortal friends make it their mission to free him from eternal damnation.

She is joined by The Fright Club which consists of Harvey, Rosalind, and Theo (Played by Ross Lynch, Jaz Sinclair, and Lachlan Watson) to save her boyfriend.

One of Sabrina’s two witch aunts Miranda Otto (Zelda Spellman) angrily tells her: ‘Being Queen of Hell isn’t a summer job, you’re putting the coven in peril just so you can see your boyfriend.’

However things become more complicated as she must take over her father’s throne in his absence and become the Queen of Hell in order to keep her coven and the residents of Greendale safe.

No doubt it is tough for the teenager to juggle all of her duties as a voiceover could be heard saying: ‘The balance is off in hell so it is off in heaven so it is off on Earth. To preserve one realm, you must preserve them all.’

She is also told by her father to embrace her destiny as the leader of the netherworld.

However, Sabrina defiantly says: ‘Hell’s under new management now.’

Taking the throne seemingly did not make things any easier as she has to defend it against a challenger; the handsome Prince of Hell Caliban (Sam Corlett).

At one point Sabrina punches him in the face after he tells her: ‘If you want the crown, you’re going to have to prove yourself worth of it.

As if balancing multiple realms wasn’t already challenging enough, a mysterious carnival is shown rolling into town as a tribe of pagans are looking to ressurect an ancient evil which threatens the Spellmans and the coven.

The updated Sabrina series takes place in the same universe as the CW’s Riverdale, just as the comic books often overlapped.

Although a crossover is inevitable, it has not yet been announced as the two shows air on different platforms, posing a conflict.

No doubt the series has been a hit for the streaming giant as it has already been renewed for season four.

Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: Part 3 is set to start streaming on Netflix on January 24.
