Kevin De Bruyne has joked that Eden Hazard is already in Madrid with Chelsea set to confirm the Belgian’s departure.

Real Madrid have finally agreed an initial €100 million (£88.5m) fee for Hazard, while Chelsea could reportedly receive up to £130m once add-ons are included.

Madrid and Chelsea have not yet confirmed the transfer but an announcement is imminent.

And De Bruyne has suggested that Hazard will not be changing his mind with a joke during an Instagram live video with Belgium’s national team.

When asked by one fan on Hazard’s whereabouts, De Bruyne replied: ‘In Madrid, for sure.’

Hazard signed off his career at Chelsea by helping the club win the Europa League with a 4-1 victory over Arsenal in the final.

Speaking immediately after the game, the 28-year-old indicated that he had played his final game for Chelsea after seven years at Stamford Bridge.

‘I think it’s goodbye but you never know,’ he said. ‘My dream was to play in the Premier League and I did this for seven years, but now might be time for a new challenge.’

Hazard is currently with Belgium’s national team as they prepare for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Scotland this month.
