Tonight, Kevin Clifton, 36, and Karen Clifton, 37, will make their first public appearance for Strictly Come Dancing since he began his relationship with Stacey Dooley, 32, earlier this year. With the professionals and celebrities set to step out for the 2019 red carpet launch, Karen and her ex will be back to working together on the much-loved BBC show. Today, however, she appeared to make a jibe about returning, uploading a meme in view of her 165,000 Instagram followers on her story. The picture showed a dog pulling a blankly disgruntled face, looking decidedly unimpressed, alongside the caption: “When someone says ‘have fun at work’.”
“That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds,” she explained.
“What I am happy to say is Kev’s amazing,” the presenter continued. “I’m happy, life happens, I’ve for an amazing career and I’m very lucky.”
Having started rehearsals earlier this month, Kevin and Karen will be reunited for the cameras at the Strictly red carpet launch tonight.
The glitzy event will also see the celebrities don the sequins and spangles for the first time as they parade their newly Strictly-fied selves alongside their potential professional partners and the four judges.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 launches September 7 on BBC One.
