The ballroom professional has now opened up about their romance as he spilled in detail what he really thought about Stacey from their initial encounter after he spoke about a “weird” moment.
Speaking on BBC Radio London with Jo Good, the Grimsby-born performer admitted he assumed she was very “grown up” but cheekily added she can be quite the opposite.
BBC presenter Jo, quizzed the star about his girlfriend, as she asked: “How’s Stacey?”
Kevin replied: “She’s good. She’s starting on the Strictly tour and they open on Thursday in Birmingham.”

Stacey is currently hosting the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2020 alongside a few of last year’s contestants which include Mike Bushell, Saffron Barker, Emma Barton and winner Kelvin Fletcher.
The dancer admitted it was “weird” to see his lady love rehearsing for the Strictly tour while he prepares for his role in the stage production of The Wedding Singer.
“It’s funny actually because we both have got our scripts that we’re learning. Stacey is hosting the Strictly tour this year,” Kevin explained.
He added: “But she is going on tour with Strictly Come Dancing and I’m not. It’s a weird thing.”
“You know, have very grown up conversations about harrowing documentaries. It turns out she’s mad. In a really nice way.”
Kevin chuckled: “She’s just a normal girl and very fun. But when it came down to the work, she really put the effort in.
“She really worked at it and she wouldn’t leave rehearsals until she got whatever it she was working on. She’s very, very focused. She has a lot of pride in everything that she does.”
Speaking about their time together on the show, he commented: “She understood when she came on the show she wasn’t a dancer. But she didn’t want to be embarrassing she wanted to make a good job of it. She worked and worked. And when it came to week seven or eight she completely turned it around.”
