“You’re allowed to go down and practise your routine with your celebrity partner. But there are always two couples ahead of you.
“So, if you were on ninth in the running [of the show] your time to go and practise with your celebrity partner was while couple number seven was on.”
He continued: “Because while there is a couple before you, you have to be up there for your final makeup checks, hair checks etc.
“You know, scraping your shoes, and ready for the next shot when Tess [Daly] says, ‘And the next couple is… Joanne Clifton and Scott Mills.’
