Kerry Washington heads to the swing state of Michigan to rock the vote for Joe Biden


With just one day before the Presidential election, actress Kerry Washington headed to the key battleground state of Michigan.

The 43-year-old Little Fires Everywhere star shared several photos and videos from Michigan on Monday, stumping for Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden and VP candidate Kamala Harris, along with Democratic Senate candidate Gary Peters.

She also took to her Instagram story in the wee hours of the morning, on her way to Detroit, asking her 6.1 million followers to share their voting stories with her.

The Scandal star stayed warm from the chilly Midwestern elements, rocking a long hooded black puffer coat, jeans and boots.

She also wore a black Biden-Harris stocking cap and glasses with gold hoop earrings and a black face mask that simply said VOTE in big white letters.

She shared a brief video of her making a wave motion, indicating a ‘blue wave’ could be coming when Americans head to the polls on Tuesday.

‘Michigan is *fire emoji* and ready to vote!!!!!!! Felt so good to be back here with all these uh-may-zing volunteers, union workers and activists who care about making their community a better place,’ she began.

‘It’s not too late to be heard, but the time is NOW! Your voice and your vote matter more than you know and we’re not going to let anybody take that from us. RIGHT?!? Let’s do this thing!!!!!!’ she concluded in her caption.

She also shared a video from 6:04 AM as she was in the car heading, presumably, to the airport for her flight to Michigan.

She added that, since Election Day is on Tuesday, she wanted to, ‘hear about your vote. Will you post your voting story?’

The Django Unchained star asked fans to tag her and use the hashtag #MyVotingStory, and that she wants to hear how her fans voted or plan to vote.

Washington will next be seen in the highly-anticipated Netflix movie The Prom, which arrives on December 11.

She has two projects currently in pre-production, 24/7, starring alongside Eva Longoria, who also makes her feature directorial debut, and the thriller Run.
