Kerry Katona has opened up about her horrific ordeal while pregnant with her eldest daughter Molly, in whom she almost miscarried after receiving a nasty letter from a troll.
The former Atomic Kitten star has sympathised with Scarlett Moffatt, who last week revealed she’d received a horrible handwritten letter from a troll which left her in tears.
Scarlett’s situation has stirred horrible memories for Kerry, 39, who has revealed that she almost lost her first baby after stress from a troll caused her to start bleeding.
In her latest column for new! Magazine, Kerry writes: ‘I was horrified.
‘It reminded me of a truly awful experience I had when I was pregnant with Molly.’
Kerry explains how she was at her mother’s flat in Warrington when a letter was hand-delivered through the letterbox.
‘[It said]: “I hope you lose the baby, you’re only with Brian for the money”, and “I hope the baby dies inside you”.’
The reality star continued: ‘It stressed me out so much I started bleeding and was rushed to hospital. I almost miscarried my Molly because of what some vile troll did to me.
‘Words can cause so much damage. Think before you put pen to paper.’
Scarlett, 29, broke down in tears on Instagram last week while sharing the twisted letter she received from a critic of her Channel 4 series, The Tribe Next Door.
The TV presenter has received criticism for the show, which sees her relocating to Namibia with a complete replica of her home to live alongside the Himba tribe for a month, but this particular troll took aim at her looks.
‘Your appearance on “Tribe” was atrocious – so fat! You can’t speak properly – it’s “I” not “me” in a sentence. Your mouth looks stranger like a pork chop sliced in half,’ the handwritten letter said.
Scarlett responded: ‘The fact someone’s sent me a letter as they feel so strongly about my weight is ridiculous.
‘Turns out I’m not even safe from vile comments in the comfort of my own home.
‘I WILL NOT let bullies like this get me down. I just wish they’d left me a reply address and I would have sent them some local charity details and clubs near them so they could occupy there time as they seem to have so much of it by helping others.
‘Let’s just be kind to people as we don’t know what’s going on in their lives.’
