Kenny Rogers shuts down wild rumours he’s at death’s door after hospital stay


US singer Kenny Rogers has shut down rumours that he is at death’s door.

It comes after claims surfaced that he was even selling off his assets and wishing his loved ones goodbye.

It was reported earlier this week that the 80-year-old was under 24/7 care after a reported battle with bladder cancer.

Many claimed that “death is looming” for the musical legend.

Hitting back at the allegations, Kenny insists he plans on sticking around for “years to come”.

Rogers reps have released a statement to explain all.

Speaking out, they said: “Due to recent wild misinformation and speculation from several media outlets, we are issuing the following statement. on behalf of Kenny Rogers.

“Kenny was recently admitted to a local Georgia hospital and treated for dehydration. Rogers will remain there to complete some physical therapy to get his strength back prior to discharge.”

Thanking all his fans for their concern, the spokesperson shared: “He appreciated the concern and well wishes he has received from his fans and can assure everyone he plans on sticking around through the years to come.”

False reports surfaced in May that the star cancelled his 2018 farewell tour after he was diagnosed with bladder cancer.

It was also wrongly alleged the country music star was hiding an illness from the public and his friends.

Another wild rumour spread that he had shared his farewell wishes to longtime friend Dolly Parton.

They claimed that he even called Dolly Parton to send his farewell wishes.

“Dolly begged him to join her to try to write some songs, but even a short drive was too much for him”, they added.

Explaining his condition, they shared: “He literally could no longer stand for more than a few minutes at a time”
