Kendrick Lamar has welcomed his first child with his fiancée, Whitney Alford.
The couple, who kept the pregnancy private, brought a baby girl into the world on Friday, according to Us Weekly.
The Grammy-winning rapper, 32, and makeup artist, 33, have been together for more than 10 years after meeting at school in Compton, Los Angeles.
Kendrick, who is notoriously tight-lipped about his private life, confirmed that he was engaged to Whitney in April 2015.
Discussing their romance on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, he said: ‘I’m loyal to the soil.
‘At the end of the day you want to always have real people around you, period – whether male or female.”
The rapper gushed over Whitney earlier that year, calling her his ‘best friend’.
‘I wouldn’t even call her my girl. That’s my best friend,’ he told Billboard in January 2015.
‘I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion – she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.’
