Kelvin Fletcher reveals trip to physiotherapy to receive treatment hours before Strictly

Kelvin Fletcher, 35, had to make a last minute trip to physiotherapy just a few hours before he was set to perform on Strictly Come Dancing 2019. The former Emmerdale star will be dancing the Cha Cha Cha to Get Stupid by Aston Merrygold. Kelvin posted a video of himself lying on a bed getting ready for physiotherapy just a few hours before performing with his partner Oti Mabuse on the show. As Tyga’s hit song Rack City played, Kelvin put on a revealing display as he moved the camera down to show his body.

“I’ve been a huge car enthusiast with my earliest memories going to bed with a spanner in my hand, most go with a teddy, but I wanted to be a mechanic when I was a kid,” he recalled.

“Even when I was an actor, because that’s what my dad was and I wanted to tinker with cars.”

Kelvin went on to explain he got involved in the sport when he bought a classic mini and went racing at the age of 28.

“I took a bit of a plunge for a hobby and it went from there,” he said.

“I got a bit of a racing bug and I did quite well, obviously being on TV helped with my profile if you like and got some commercial interest and then seven years later this year, I was crowned GT champion.”

“That was the week before Strictly,” Angellica noted.

Kelvin confirmed: “We had started dancing, I think we were a week into rehearsals and I said I’ve got a little race to do, it’s the last race of the year…”

The star, who is favourite to win the series with professional partner Oti Mabuse, said: “I think the guys at Strictly were worried I was going to have an accident.

“I couldn’t get injured or anything.

“So it was a bit risky but it was a good race, we won the championships.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 6.40pm on BBC One.
