Kelly Brook drops Great British Bake Off bombshell after Sandi Toksvig steps down


Kelly Brook hasn’t wasted anytime in letting the showbiz world know that she is keen to be the new presenter of The Great British Bake Off .

The 40-year-old former Daily Star Page 3 babe made the announcement shortly after Sandi Toksvig revealed she would be quitting hosting the popular show.

Sandi, 61, who currently presents the show with Noel Fielding, announced that she would be stepping down and now the hunt is on to find her replacement.

But luckily for Channel 4, Kelly has stated she is “available” if producers want her to fill Sandi’s boots.

Speaking on Heart London Drivetime with JK and Kelly Brook about Sandi’s news, she said: “Sandi’s hilarious. I really liked her.

“I liked all of them actually the whole experience was pretty incredible.”

To which JK responded: “Two things. Brook for Bake Off is the first thing. Hashtag it now.”

Kelly replied: “I’m available. My agent said my greatest asset is my availability.”

The TV personality is already set to enter the Bake Off tent as she is starring in the upcoming celebrity special edition of the show as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer event.

Sandi announced she will be stepping down by releasing the following statement: “When stepping down from a job it is quite common for people to say they are doing so in order to spend more time with their family.

“Unusually I am departing from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ so I can spend more time with my other work.

“As my waistline will testify, ‘Bake Off’ is an all-consuming show.”

She continued by saying how much she enjoyed spending time with Noel and fellow co-stars and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

Sandi continued: “These are friendships which I know will continue beyond the confines of television.

“‘Bake Off’ is a wonderful programme which has already proved it can happily withstand a change of hosting personnel.

“The reason for that, of course, is that the true stars of the show are the bakers themselves. I wish everyone well.”
