Kellogg’s to release Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter spread

First we had marmite peanut butter, but the latest breakfast spread amalgamation is for those who struggle to choose between toast and cereal.

Kellogg’s has announced it’s releasing Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter – smooth peanut butter filled with honey-roasted nuts.

The spread will be available in Sainsbury’s stores UK-wide from Sunday, July 19 and retails at £2.50 per jar.

Kellogg’s created the new spread by teaming up with peanut butter manufacturer Duerr’s after it found that one in four homes across the UK has a box of Crunchy Nut in their cupboards and that peanut butter has overtaken jam in the spread popularity stakes.

Kate Stokes, senior brand manager at Kellogg’s UK said: ‘’Since launching in 1980, the popularity of Crunchy Nut has grown and grown and it is regularly hailed as the UK’s favourite cereal.

‘’Knowing its popularity, we wanted to explore a new avenue and it’s been great to work with Duerr’s to bring the UK Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter. We hope that all of the Crunchy Nut fans out there are as excited as we are.’’

Last year, Marmite introduced a new spread to supermarket shelves combining its famous, yeast-y spread with crunchy peanut butter. When it was released in April it became the brand’s first permanent product innovation since it was established in 1902.
