Katya Jones, 30, and her estranged husband Neil Jones, 37, said they would remain good friends when they announced their split earlier this month. Having assured fans they would still be working together professionally, the former couple took to the stage to dance together at tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing 2019 red carpet launch. Pictures showed the Russian-born beauty, who was partnered with Seann Walsh, 33, last year, performing a series of daring moves with her ex. In one snap, Neil lifted Katya into the air.
Another showed him swinging her back around to his front, where she caught herself by wrapping her legs around his waist.
Katya was dressed in an eye-catching white and gold frock with a beaded fringe skirt.
The number featured corset-style lace-up sides which emphasised her slender waist and boasted a plunging bodice to tease a glimpse of her assets.
Neil, meanwhile, wore a white short-sleeved shirt with the obligatory Strictly sequins and white slim-fit jeans.
Katya and Neil Jones confirmed their split earlier this month, releasing a join statement on their respective Instagram pages.
“After 11 years, we have made the mutual decision to separate,” they said. “We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends.”
“We wish one another every happiness and we will remain the best of friends,” the statement added.
“We are really looking forward to getting back to the ballroom and can’t wait to keep on dancing.”
At tonight’s launch, Claudia Winkleman, 47, turned heads in an eye-catching red sparkly suit.
The bold ensemble featured a tuxedo-style blazer, which the presenter wore with the sleeves pushed up to her elbows, and wide-legged trousers.
She paired it with red stiletto court shoes and wore her brunette locks in her signature style with a blunt fringe.
Tess Daly, 50, meanwhile, also oozed glamour in a teal velvet dress which wrapped around her slender curves and boasted ruche detailing on one side.
The blonde bombshell put her seemingly endless pins on full display in the thigh split number, elongating them further in towering glittery stilettos.
Elsewhere, earlier today, Strictly Come Dancing 2019 judge Shirley Ballas flashed her knickers when she suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction during rehearsals for the red carpet launch.
The Queen of Latin was snapped hitching her long skirt up around her hips as she made her way across the stage but didn’t appear to realise she had pulled it up so high her underwear was on display.
Meanwhile, the professional dancers were dressed in matching white outfits, with the girls’ featuring plenty of fringing and corset detailing.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 launches September 7 on BBC One.
