Katya Jones, 30, and Neil Jones, 37, reportedly called it quits after the Strictly Come Dancing couple ended up watching Disney movies over having sex. The revelation comes just days after the couple announced they were calling it quits on their marriage. According to a pal, the spark in their relationship had gone and said there was “no passion” between them. The TV executive pal told The Sun on Sunday: “Neil was very open about the fact that there was no passion between them — that they didn’t have sex.
“He said they spent all their evenings together lounging on the sofa in comfy onesies, watching Disney films like The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.”
The pal went onto claim the couple had also been arguing more in recent weeks.
It comes after Katya and Neil took to shared a joint message about their separation on their Instagram pages, which read: “Hi everyone, as our fans and loyal supporters you are really important to us and so we wanted to let you know some news.
“After 11 years we have made the mutual decision to separate.
“We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends.”
The dancers added: “This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together.”
Katya and Neil went on to insist they will still be “dancing together” in spite of their split.
They continued: “Our shared love of dance means we will keep working and dancing together as well as exploring individual projects.
“No matter what we do we will always support and respect each other.
“We wish one another every happiness and we will remain the best of friends.”
The BBC favourites concluded: “We are really looking forward to getting back to the ballroom and can’t wait to keep on dancing. Lots of love from us both xx.”
Last series, Katya and her dance partner Seann Walsh, 33, hit the headlines after they were pictured kissing during a night out.
At the time, the Russian-born dancer was still in a relationship with Neil, while Seann had been in a relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries, 31, for five years.
Days after the news, Rebecca confirmed she had split from Seann in a Twitter post.
Katya and Seann both apologised for their actions on Strictly: It Takes Two and on their separate Twitter pages.
Strictly Come Dancing returns next month on BBC One.
