Katy Perry has opened up about ‘friction’ in her
relationship with Orlando Bloom, days after announcing her pregnancy.
The Teenage Dream singer revealed she was expecting their first child together earlier this week, sharing a glimpse at her baby bump in the music video for Never Worn White.
And, joining Ryan Seacrest on his On Air With radio show,
the 35-year-old lifted the lid on their rollercoaster relationship.
Admitting things aren’t always so smooth between her and the
Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, 43, she said: ‘I have consciously or
unconsciously picked a partner that makes sure I keep evolving into the best
version of myself.
‘There’s a lot of friction between my partner and I, but
that friction breeds something beautiful, it can breed a lot of light.
‘It’s just one of those relationships. I don’t know about anyone else who’s listening what kind of relationships they’ve had – and I’ve had many – but it’s like we basically, we get down to the matt and come back up every time.’

Katy and Orlando have had an on-off relationship ever since they made things official, way back in 2016.
They split the following year, explaining they were taking ‘respectful,
loving space’ in a joint statement.
But the space wasn’t to last and they reunited just five
months later and have been inseparable ever since, cheering each other on over
various ventures.
They took things up a notch when the Carnival Row actor got down on one knee, popping the question on Valentine’s Day 2019.
And, just over a year later, the American Idol judge delighted fans around the world when she confirmed her baby news on Instagram, during a live chat.
‘There’s a lot that’s happening this summer,’ she told
followers. ‘Not only will I be giving birth, literally, and figuratively… to
something you guys have been waiting for.
‘I’m excited, we’re excited, and happy. It’s probably the
longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the
best way through a piece of music.
‘While it’s not the lead single, it’s a good way to start
out. I had to reveal it [the pregnancy] at some point. It’s getting pretty
obvious.’
The Swish Swish singer also joked on Twitter that she’s ‘so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore… or carry around a big purse’.
Honestly, couple goals.
The lovebirds are yet to reveal the sex and due date of baby
Bloom, but no doubt we’ll be hearing all about the little one in a song very
soon.
While it’s the first child for Katy, Orlando is already dad
to nine-year-old son Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
He was married to the former Victoria’s Secret model from 2010 until 2013, while Katy divorced ex-husband Russell Brand in 2011, after a year-long marriage.
