Katie Price offered five-figure fee to appear on Australian Celeb Big Brother

Katie Price ’s cashflow problems could be over after a big-money offer to appear on the Australian version of Celebrity Big Brother.

The star, 43, has been approached by eager producers prepared to pay a five-figure fee and make a substantial donation to charity.

Katie, whose last reality TV appearance Down Under was when she met first husband Peter Andre while appearing on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, is said to be “considering her options”.

A source said: “It’s a long way fto go but she is seriously considering it because it could be good for her financially. She also won the UK version of the show in 2015, so she is keen to see if she could break Australia.

“The problem is leaving the kids and fiance behind.

“Katie has always said no more and then she always does another show, so you never know.”

If she accepts the offer, Katie is expected to donate her fee to a charity close to her and 19-year-old son Harvey, who was diagnosed with Septo-optic Dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder affecting his eyesight, as well as autism and Prader-Willi syndrome which can cause learning difficulties and behavioural problems.

He requires 24-hour care.

If Katie signs up, she will need to fly to Sydney for three weeks filming in August but under current Covid restrictions, she will also be required to quarantine for two weeks before she starts.

A source said: “In Australia Katie is really popular, whenever she has appeared on The Morning show she has trended on social media and there’s real excitement about her.

“When casting this years show, there had been a few British names suggested but Katie is first choice.”

Mum-of-five Katie – who was reported to have once boasted a fortune of more than £40million – was formally declared bankrupt by a court in November 2019.
