Katie Price has been forced to cancel her appearance at the Mighty Hoopla festival due to her horse being taken ill.

Her stint at the South London festival would have been her first public outing after she recently reported being assaulted.

Katie was scheduled for an on-stage performance with Love Of Huns and Jayde Adams at the event taking place today (Saturday, September 4).

However, the star cancelled last minute when her horse Wallis was taken for medical treatment.

A source told The Sun: ‘Katie was keen to get back out there and see her fans but her horse has been taken away for medical treatment.

‘She’s had Wallis for 12 years and he is very well-loved in the family. He has been very unwell in recent weeks.

‘Katie feels she has to be by his side as she fears he’s dying. She’s absolutely devastated.’

Katie was believed to be wanting to relaunch her pop career with her appearance at the festival in London’s Brockwell Park.

Also performing at Mighty Hoopla are Cheryl, Atomic Kitten, Gabrielle, Raye, Alexandra Burke and Becky Hill.

Katie pulled out of a previous public appearance last week when she was due to attend the British LGBT Awards.

A source told The Sun: ‘Katie is devastated and hates to let people down, but is exhausted and can’t face going out. She so badly wanted to go but she’s in so much pain, she just can’t.’

The 43-year-old was rushed to the hospital after allegedly being assaulted at a property in Essex.

Essex Police confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour. He has since been released on bail.

Katie recently spoke out after the incident, claiming she ran to her eldest son Harvey’s house after being ‘punched’.

‘I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated. I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened. I ran away after being punched,’ she told The Sun.
