Katie Price is said to have invested in a second guard dog that is “better trained than a police dog” in order to make her feel safer
Katie Price has reportedly bought a second guard dog for her home following after she was the victim of an alleged assault.
The mother-of-five, 43, already has another pooch of the same breed, named Blade, who has been trained up as her security dog and intends to do the same with her new addition.
Former glamour model Katie said that she was left “dazed and devastated” after claiming to have been “punched” in an alleged attack by a man at a house in Essex in the early hours of August 23.
And now, she plans to beef up security for herself and that is why she has invested in the “elite level” pup, named Okra, that is “better trained than a police dog.”
Katie hopes that the four-legged friend will make her home “feel safer” after last months alleged assault.
A source told The Sun: “Katie has bought another black German Shepherd, the same breed as her existing security dog, Blade.
“He’s being trained to a second elite level – making him even better trained than a police dog.
“Having both Blade and her new dog Okra around will help make Katie’s home feel safer after it was burgled and she was assaulted.”
After former glamour model Katie was allegedly attacked she claimed to the publication: “I’ve got a big bruise, my face is all puffy, and I went to hospital.
“I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated. I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened.
“I ran to Harvey’s house and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured.”
A man in his 30s was held on suspicion of assault, coercive control and theft and has been released on bail.
Essex Police confirmed the Wednesday after the alleged attack that a man in his 30s had been released on bail until next month after his arrest.
A statement said: “A man arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour has been released on bail until September 20.”
Katie claimed she fled to her son Harvey’s home before paramedics were called and she was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Following reports that she “cannot face” an appearance in court, an insider close to the I’m A Celeb star claimed that Katie is set on pressing ahead with the allegations and is receiving support from her pals.
They also added how Katie is “very scared” after the alleged incident.
“It’s not true that is dropping the case, but she is very scared and is feeling emotionally vulnerable,” a source told MailOnline.
Sharing how she is being backed by her nearest and dearest, they added: “All her friends and family are behind her and will make sure she has the strength to pursue the case, so she is going full steam ahead.”
The ex Page 3 model was due to relaunch her pop career, over the weekend, by taking to the stage at the Mighty Hoopla festival at London’s Brockwell Park.
However, she reportedly pulled out after learning her beloved horse, Wallis, was taken away for emergency treatment.
