Katie Holmes is putting her multi-tasking skills to the test by serving as writer, director, producer and star of the her new film Alone Together.
But on Friday, as the film dropped in select theaters, Holmes showcased her promotional skills when she attended a question-and-answer panel for the upcoming rom-com in her adopted hometown of New York City.
Looking casual but still cool, the Ohio native was spotted leaving her Manhattan home by herself and then making her way to the event at the Angelika Film Center.

Holmes, 43, stepped out on to the bustling streets of New York City dressed in blue denim jeans and a black double-breasted blazer over a white top.
Knowing there would be some walking involved in her trip to the event, she choose to wear a pair of stylish white sneakers with prominent brown stitching.
The Dawson’s Creek alumna accessorized with dangling green and yellow earrings and had her dark brown tresses styled long past her shoulders with a part in the middle.
She appeared to have a fresh glow to her complexion on this night, all while flashing a beaming smile towards one admiring photographer.

Multi-tasking: The Batman Begins star serves as writer, director and star of Alone Together
It turns out the Batman Begins star and her daughter Suri, 16, quarantined during the height of the pandemic at an Upstate lake house, where they bonded during their ‘perpetual vacation’ and she wrote the screenplay for Alone Together.
‘I went through watching a bunch of movies and actually during that time I was watching movies that I grew up on, like Manhattan, Annie Hall, When Harry Met Sally. Like movies that I knew the ending [of], it was comforting, there was joy and so I thought well, I was reading a lot about couples coming together and falling apart and I was like, I think the threat of the world ending, let’s see a couple come together,’ she said.

The film takes place in the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown, when uncertainty was rising as rapidly as the confirmed cases were mounting.
Holmes plays June, a New York food critic who flees the city thinking that her boyfriend (Derek Luke) will be joining her Upstate; when his family situation prevents that, she and another man (Jim Sturgess) find themselves alone … together, according to Variety.
Alone Together also stars Melissa Leo, Zosia Mamet, Luke Kirby, Becky Ann Baker, Nikki Delmonico, Sandra Lucas, Mike Iveson, Thomas Hatz, Spenser Granese, Austin Pastore, Nicole Pastore and Tanner Pastore.
Alone Together premiered in select theaters in the U.S. on Friday, July 22.
