Mike urged the broadcaster to “do her own thing” but it wasn’t long before Kate realised who she should be in a relationship with.
Kate concluded: “Then thankfully I understood what it was which had been sending me off all over the place and made that commitment, and we’ve never looked back. He’s my soulmate.
“My therapist, who is now a friend, came to the wedding and said, ‘Everyone says he’s lucky to have you but let me tell you, you are bl**dy lucky to have him’.”
Kate – who is now doing a Masters in child psychotherapy – tied the knot with Mike in 2010 after he proposed in Rome, and now share two children; Wilbur and Clemency.
