Kate recycles her favourite Alexander McQueen coat for the fourth time on royal visit to Birkenhead

Kate Middleton stepped out in Birkenhead today alongside Prince William and Sir David Attenborough wearing one of her favourite pieces from British brand Alexander McQueen.

The bespoke jacket, which comes in the exact shade of blue that’s going to be big next season, was first modelled by Kate in April 2014 during the royal tour of New Zealand.

McQueen has long been a favourite brand of Kate’s.

The brand designed her wedding dress for her nuptials to Prince William in 2011, and she’s worn it often since, most recently at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party in May 2019.

To compliment her cornflower blue ensemble Kate opted for the Empress earrings by jewellers Mappin and Webb and the 1781 Pochette clutch bag by British accessories label, Asprey.

The couple were making their appearance for the naming ceremony of the UK’s new polar research trip, RSS Sir David Attenborough, which the public voted to call Boaty McBoatface.

William and Kate were also given a tour of the ship and met with a team of engineers – including young apprentices – who have been involved in the building of the ship.

Their appearance comes after Prince William’s cousin, Princess Beatrice, announced her engagement to property tycoon, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
