Kate Middleton: Duchess’ top fashion tips that can be used for your next holiday abroad

The Royal Family are avid travellers who have been spotted visiting countries all around the world. Royal tours and duties keep the Royal Family particularly busy. The Duchess of Cambridge in particular, has often accompanied her husband Prince William on plenty of trips.

She said: “Often it’s so windy and breezy that hats are used to keep hair in place.

“Just like the dresses fly up, so does your hair.

“Right when you walk off the aeroplane those are the first photos that go viral, so the hat is often used right when they walk off for that reason.”

To avoid your hair whipping around your face when you exit or board a plane, dig out a beanie or a beret.

Leather insoles

Kate, and many other women within the Royal Family are often seen sporting heels.

While they may look sleek and elegant, high heels are not the most comfortable shoes.

Wearing heels is especially impractical when you’re travelling – waiting for your luggage or queuing to board a plane.

But Kate has reportedly solved this problem too.

According to Vanity Fair back in 2015, Kate uses insoles by Alice Bow.

Their brand’s website says that insoles are “designed to cushion the ball of your foot and heels, whilst being thin enough to fit unnoticed into any shoes”.

Weighted down hems

To avoid skirts or dresses blowing upwards in the wind, Kate and other women in the Royal Family wear weights in their hems.

Stewart Parvin, one of the Queen’s couturiers, told the Daily Mail: “Surprisingly, it is nothing fancy.

“I use curtain weights, lead weights, from Peter Jones’s curtain department.

“We call them penny weights.”
