Kate went on to say it must’ve been hard for her at the time when Boris was in hospital with coronavirus last year.
She added to Radio Times Magazine: “I think she has had a challenging time dealing with that.”
Reflecting on the Prime Minister also being hospitalised due to the virus, she continued: “Mercifully, his health is great now but they must have had some dark moments as well during that period.”
On Derek returning home, the mother-of-two said she and her children are getting used to a “whole new chapter” with the former lobbyist.
