Kate Beckinsale might be dating the comedian Pete Davidson, however it turns out she’s missing British humour.

That’s right, the 45-year-old is longing for some ‘self-deprecating humour,’ especially that found in British men.

When chatting to Associated Press, the UK-born actress spoke about everything she missed form her home country, including both black cabs and Marks & Spencers.

She told the publication: ‘I always say the same things, which is Marks & Spencer and black cabs and my mum, that’s a given.

‘But what I mostly miss is everyone has the same silly references that you have, and a certain sort of sense of humour, most particularly in men.’

She added: ‘There’s a kind of machismo in America, I love that English men have a kind of self-deprecating humour about themselves, on the whole, and I think it’s really healthy and I miss that.’

Just recently the actress went public with the Saturday Night Live star Pete – so you’d think she’d have enough giggles in life to get her by.

Before they confirmed their romance with a sweet, but very full on kiss, sources teased that Pete was totally her type.

When talking to Us Weekly, they said: ‘Kate is a lot of fun and loves embracing her youthful side. She’s always the life of the party and likes going out, dancing and hanging out around young people at hip places.’

‘[Kate is] very confident in her skin and is all about having a good time.

‘It’s no surprise she likes Pete – he makes her laugh and she likes the fact that he’s younger than her.’

The pair set tongues wagging about a potential romance when they were spotted together during the Golden Globes.

While chatting to E! News, a source at the time: ‘She was very flirty with him and there were definitely some vibes going on. Pete was smiling and laughing with her and she was all about him.’

Their relationship comes just months after the Saturday Night Live star’s engagement to Ariana Grande was called off.

And even though the pair’s whirlwind romance inspired so many love songs from the pint sized singer, it seems Ari is fine with Pete moving on.

Earlier this year, reporters caught Ari out with her pals in Los Angeles and couldn’t help but ask about the Pete and Kate rumours.

When pressed for her views in the new relationship, the 25-year-old shouted to the camera: ‘So cute!’
