Kash Ali was disqualified for biting David Price during a shocking heavyweight bout between the two British fighters on Merseyside.

Home favourite Price sealed his second victory in as many fights as referee Mark Lyson decided to put a halt to the spectacle at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Saturday evening.

Lyson had already deducted a point from Ali for punching Price in the back of the head as the latter got the upper hand in the opening rounds of a bad-tempered bout.

The Birmingham boxer appeared to nibble at Price’s shoulder later on in round three before the two fighters hit the canvass in the fifth round – and this is when Ali sunk his teeth into Price’s stomach.

Ali’s bite marks were clearly visible on Price’s stomach and the Liverpudlian branded his opponent an ‘animal’ after being awarded the win.

I hurt him to the body just before the final bite he took,’ Price explained.

‘He did a couple early on and I thought he had lost his head completely.

‘He said he wanted a rematch, but I don’t want to share a ring with an animal like that again.

‘The main thing is that I move forward. I will take any win, and now we move on

Fellow Scouser Tony Bellew labelled Ali a ‘disgrace’ following the shocking scenes at the M&S Bank Arena.

‘His bottle went and they were disgusting things which have no place in a boxing ring,’ Bellew said.

‘He bit him not once, not twice, not even three times, he bit him four times and the referee caught him twice.

‘He’s a disgrace and shouldn’t be allowed back in a boxing ring ever again.

‘He should not be paid for the fight, give the money to grassroots boxing and help develop amateur boxing.

‘Biting a man when they’re on the floor, there aren’t many lower things in life.’
