Kanye West had been hoping to trademark ‘Sunday Service’, but his application has been shut down.

The rapper was rejected by the US Patent and Trademark Office because the name has already been registered by somebody else, according to TMZ.

Ye has become known for his Sunday Service gigs that he first hosted near his home in Calabasas, before taking himself and his choir all across the US.

From New York to Wyoming, Kanye has been hosting his service for fans all over and it’s claimed he wanted to trademark the term for merchandising purposes.

That hasn’t stopped him already releasing Sunday Service themed hoodies for $200 and $50 socks, but it seems he’ll have to go without his trademark.

The publication reports that Kanye can, however, challenge the decision if he wants to.

It sounds like Kanye might be having better luck with his new album, as it’s claimed he is ‘on the verge’ of releasing it at the end of this month.

Jesus Is King is set to drop on October 25, after initially missing its scheduled release date at the end of September.

Kanye has kept fans hanging on, with wife Kim claiming he had been making a few ‘final tweaks’ to the album, hence the delay.

Explaining the hold up himself, Kanye, who recently revealed he has converted to Christianity, told fans that the delay was because he was ‘making it better for ya’ll.’
