Kanye West’s fans share hilarious memes after Jesus Is King album release delay

Furious Kanye West fans have resorted to humour after the rapper failed to release his album on the scheduled date.

Today, the father-of-four was expected release Jesus Is King, a gospel-influenced album inspired West’s Sunday Service tour.

West previously posted the album’s tracklist – packed with biblical references – on his website, with a note confirming it would be out on Friday, September 27.

Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian reassured her husband’s fans that the project was on schedule, retweeting a post that said: “2 more days Jesus is King”

However this morning, the album was nowhere to be seen.

Rolling Stone has since reported that sources close to the situation have confirmed the record has been delayed indefinitely.

Upon hearing the news, fans quickly turned to Twitter to share funny memes about West’s “broken promises”.

One fan noted that the Power rapper’s Twitter account has been dormant since January 1, connecting it to the missing album.

They: “New Kanye supposed to drop in less than 12 hours but he hasn’t tweeted 400 times a minute like he normally does.”

Others used videos and memes of clowns to indicate that they have deceived and left looking foolish waiting up all night for the album to appear.

Others shared images of the Yeezus creator asleep.

Some were not surprised though, pointing out that this is not the first time the musician has failed to deliver on a promise.

“So Kanye West lied about dropping an album again? Damn..” one said.

“Me getting burned by kanye west’s broken promises (again),” another tweeted.

Kardashian has heavily teased the album on her Instagram.

In August, she shared a handwritten note with the would-be tracklist which contained song called Water and West previously performed a track by that name during his Coachella Sunday Service earlier this year.

The note also includes songs named Sweet Jesus, Wake The Dead, God Is and Baptized.

If West eventually releases the album, it will be his first since Ye, which arrived in June last year.

He was expected to release a new album called Yandhi in September, which was to be followed by another, Black Friday, in November. These releases were postponed indefinitely.

There hasn’t been much said about Yandhi this year, but recordings from the sessions recently leaked while the project seems to remain abandoned.

In the meantime, West has been busy performing his weekly Sunday Service events, which feature gospel music and A-list guests.

He has not tweeted since New Year’s Day, following a period when he was very busy on the social media website which saw him spark controversy by appearing to show support for Donald Trump.
