Kanye West has treated fans to a snippet of his new track Believe What I Say amid his contract row.

The song clip, which comes after the rapper insisted he wouldn’t release any music until he’s released from his contracts with Universal and Sony, samples Lauryn Hill’s iconic hit Doo-Wop (That Thing).

In the snippet he raps: ‘You ask him to feel protected/And still feel protected.

‘Just one time for the record/Just one time for the record/Don’t agree with the message/Don’t agree with the methods.’

Fans are living for the teaser, with one urging him: ‘DROP THIS.’

‘DROP THE ALBUM,’ another said, with one more adding; ‘We absolutely love to see a lauryn sample.’

Lauryn’s song was originally released in 1998 as the lead single for her debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

Kanye, 43, has been on a mission to get released from his Universal and Sony contracts, recently tweeting the documents page by page in his efforts to get control of his own masters.

He tweeted: ‘Everyone at Universal and Vivendi please understand that I will do everything in my legal power and use my voice until all artist contracts are changed, starting with getting my masters for my children. I will not stop I promise you, I’m am petty and very personal.’

The rapper later vowed that he would help his longtime rival Taylor Swift to gain control of her masters.

The Golddigger rapper – who famously feuded with the singer after they clashed at the 2009 VMAs – insisted he’s close friends with her former manager Scooter Braun.

Last year, Taylor’s 13-year deal with Big Machine expired and Scooter – who acquired Scott Borchetta’s company – got to retain ownership of her first six albums.

‘I’M GOING TO PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT TAYLOR SWIFT GETS HER MASTERS BACK,’ Kanye tweeted. ‘SCOOTER IS A CLOSE FAMILY FRIEND.’

Kanye’s last release was his album Jesus Is King in 2019, with the star expected to release his upcoming record Donda: With Child this year.
