Kanye West makes surprise appearance at Travis Scott's Astroworld Fest in Houston

Kanye West shocked Travis Scott fans on Saturday as he appeared on-stage at the Astroworld Festival in Houston during the middle of Scott’s set.

The music mogul performed his new single Follow God off of his ninth studio album Jesus is King. 

West, 42, performed in front of 50,000 fans, some of which had participated in a stampede at the entrance that left at least three people injured.

A video posted to Scott’s Instagram showed several attendees jumping over barricades before knocking them over altogether.

He captioned the video: ‘DA YOUTH DEM CONTROL THE FREQUENCY. EVERYONE HAVE FUN. 

‘RAGERS SET TONE WHEN I COME OUT TONIGHT. BE SAFE RAGE HARD. AHHHHHHHHHHH.’  

A local news outlet reported that some fans brought bolt cutters to break through the barriers.

According to TMZ, a since-deleted tweet from the Houston Police Department blamed promoters for understaffing the event.

An updated tweet seems to put a more positive spin on the news: ‘We are successfully working together to support Houston’s biggest music festival @astroworldfest at @nrgpark and collaborating closely with the festival to ensure the public safety of everyone attending the event. We look forward to a memorable night.’

Meanwhile, the rapper’s ex Kylie Jenner also touched down at the festival to show her support.

‘Kylie flew to Houston with a group of friends. She returns to L.A. this morning,’ a source told People. 

‘It was important for her to support Travis’ festival. They are still very close and often hang out with Stormi.’ 

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was spotted dancing in the front row during singer Rosalía’s set on Saturday. 

Rosalia even shouted out Jenner from the stage and dedicated a song to her, according to the Houston Chronicle. 

The outlet continued that Scott informed fans later in the day that their 21-month-old daughter Stormi was also in attendance. 

She and Scott announced their split last month, but they remain on good terms as she’s begun a rumored romance with Drake.
