Kane lifts lid on texts with Mourinho and self-isolation training regime

Harry Kane has revealed that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is still in contact with his players via text messages, providing them with individual training plans.

The Spurs forward has been self-isolating, just like the rest of his teammates, amid the coronavirus outbreak.

But that does not mean that work has stopped entirely for the side, as the 26-year-old revealed in a Live Instagram chat with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp.

Speaking to the former Liverpool midfielder, Kane said: “He’s [Mourinho] keeping up to date, he’s texting the players. We’ve all been given individual programmes to work on.

“We’re all trying to adapt and make the most out of the situation. We’re fortunate enough to have gyms and pools in our houses.”

The England international also touched on the injury which has sidelined him since New Years’ Day, when he tore his hamstring in a game against Southampton.

“So far so good. Things are going great. I was doing my rehab up at Spurs up until last week. I should be ready to integrate with the group when we go back.

“There’s no rush, no panic, I’m in a good space. I’ll just take it as it comes, whenever we’re back.”

On his future, Kane said he is content at Spurs but refuses to remain at the north London club ‘just for the sake of it’, fuelling speculation of his departure as the summer transfer window approaches.
