A K-Pop festival in LA, which had already announced artists including MOMOLAND, has been postponed due to increasing fears over coronavirus.

The Korea Times Music Festival, which was set to be staged at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in April, will no longer be going ahead on the planned date.

According to reports, the festival initially announced that the postponement was due to ‘the increasing uncertainty threat of coronavirus.’

The current statement reads: ‘It is with deepest regret that we announce the postponement of the 18th KTMF scheduled on April 25th, 2020, due to current travel restrictions in Asia.’

However, it seems that there are plans for the festival to be rescheduled, with the statement adding: ‘Concert goers can opt for a refund or keep the existing tickets. Tickets will remain valid and transferable to the rescheduled concert date.’

Band MOMOLAND, and former Wanna One member Ha Sungwoon are among the acts to have already been announced for the event.

The festival isn’t the only event to suffer as fears about the virus spreading increase.

The Korean Music Awards were recently cancelled, while BTS’ promotional performances for their new album Map Of The Soul: 7 will be filmed without an audience.

A notice read: ‘We would like to inform you about the music show attendance during BTS’s Map Of The Soul: 7 promotion.

‘Recently, the broadcasting stations have decided to record the music shows without any audience to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

‘BTS performances will also be recorded without audience to follow the decisions of the broadcasting stations.

‘We apologise to ARMY that have been looking forward to attending the music shows. Thank you for understanding.’

Most recently, a hotel in Tenerife has been put on lockdown, with four people testing positive for the virus.

After a doctor in the Costa Adeje Palace Hotel was tested positive for COVID-19, his wife and two of their party were also confirmed to have the virus.

The UK has also faced school closures, after students returned from half-term holidays.
