Juventus chiefs ‘fly to London’ for Paul Pogba transfer meeting with Man Utd

Manchester United are expected to dip into the January transfer market to improve their fortunes, and it could be a case of one in, one out at Old Trafford.

United are expected to conclude a deal to sign Juventus attacker Mario Mandzukic.

The Croatian striker is out of favour at the Allianz Arena, having been ousted my Maurizio Sarri.

Mandzukic is yet to play this season, and was left out of this year’s Champions League squad.

The 33-year-old has reportedly agreed terms with United over a potential move, but the exact fee is yet to be agreed.

Now, however, Juventus have sent officials to London to meet with United representatives to discuss transfers.

The exact nature of the meeting is unknown, though it is expected that as well as a deal for Mandzukic, they will also discuss a potential return for Paul Pogba.

Italian publication La Stampa claims United ace Pogba will also be discussed at the meeting.

Juve are reportedly keen on signing the French midfielder in order to beat off competition from Real Madrid.

Pogba has emerged as a transfer target for both Juve and Madrid, as speculation continues to ramp up over his future.

It has been claimed that Juve are set to make another move for Pogba despite selling him to United in 2016.

Reports in Italy earlier this month suggested that the Frenchman will leave if United fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

United have made a poor start to the season, having dropped to 12th in the league at one point.

Going into the international break, they now sit seventh, nine points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

However, they remain only two points ahead of 15th-placed Everton, and are at risk of dropping down the table again if they suffer any bad results.
