Justin Bieber was ‘just playing’ when he asked Tom Cruise to fight him in a UFC cage fight.

The 25-year-old doesn’t even think he’d win because the 56-year-old would probably defeat him with his ‘dad strength’.

Justin has finally explained why he bizarrely challenged the Mission Impossible actor to a bout and told him he would ‘never live it down’ if he refused.

‘It was just a random tweet. I do that stuff sometimes,’ he told TMZ. ‘I think he’d probably whup my ass in a fight!’

He laughed: ‘I’d have to get in some good shape. I think he’d probably be out of my weight class.’

Never mind Cruise, the Love Yourself hitmaker caught us all off guard when he tweeted demanding a fight.

He said: ‘I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down.’

The popstar then tagged UFC president Dana White to show he was serious, adding: ‘Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite? [sic].’

UFC fighter Conor McGregor was one of the first to respond and even offered to host the fight.

Yet the internet firmly agreed that Bieber was Cruising for a bruising with Tom, while they decided on a more suitable challenger for the prince of pop.

Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford and Steven Segal were even thrown into the mix as fans tried set up Justin’s ideal celebrity deathmatch.

Sadly, not even Justin’s music manager Scooter Braun could muster the interest to orchestrate the fight so it’s likely that Justin’s fighting talk has ended his UFC career before it’s begun.
