Justice League: Jason Momoa says "the Snyder cut is sick"

Jason Momoa has seen the Snyder cut of the Justice League movie and he says that it’s sick. Or, to be exact, the Aquaman actor said that this alternate edit of the DC team-up film is “ssssiiicccckkkkkk”.

By this point, the story of the Snyder cut is very well documented: the Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman director Zack Snyder was the original director of Justice League, but he left the production late in the day because of a family tragedy. The Avengers Assemble director Joss Whedon stepped in to finish the film and direct new scenes, but fans of Snyder’s work remained convinced that there was an alternate cut of the movie that would’ve stuck closer to Snyder’s original vision.

And now, Momoa seems to have confirmed that Snyder does indeed have his own cut of the film, although it’s unclear if this is a rough edit that Snyder has assembled in his free time or something that Warner Bros is actually thinking of releasing. Either way, you can read Momoa’s thoughts about the Snyder cut in the caption to this sweet Instagram video, in which Momoa thanks Snyder for casting him as Aquaman and gifts him a new camera…

“Mahalo for showing me the synder cut,” Momoa writes in the caption. He also says, “The Snyder cut is ssssiiicccckkkkkk #luckymesucksforu”

The hashtag, ‘lucky me, sucks for you’, could be read as a hint from Momoa that the Snyder cut will not be released to the public. Could it be that only the lucky few, those that are close to Snyder, will be able to see this cut? If true, this would chime quite well with the recent report from a VFX insider on the film that said the special effects on Snyder’s original cut were never “anything close” to being finished.

Of course, we won’t know anything for sure unless Warner Bros makes an official announcement about it. The idea of a Snyder cut existing in some form seems to be confirmed, though, and we’ll be sure to update you if we hear anything.
