“Just Cause” Videogame Headed to Big Screen with John Wick Screenwriter – Splash Report

The videogame ‘Just Cause’ is coming to the big screen with the John Wick screenwriter on board to write the script and Constantin Film distributing.

According to Deadline, John Wick creator and writer have signed a deal with the film company to bring the movie to the silver screen as early as 2020. The name of the game comes from a real life secret operation by the government, in Panama, to take down a drug lord.

The game stars Rico Rodriguez, one of the few Hispanic videogame heroes with much traction, on a race-against-time mission to stop The Black Hand, a mercenary group. Rodrigues, aka The Scorpion, has a signature “agent of chaos” approach to taking down the bad guys, aided by his Grappling Hook and stealth Wing-suite, that should play well on a movie screen.

The hope by the filmmakers and writers as that this will become another strong action franchise for them.
