Jurgen Klopp admits the ankle injury Fabinho suffered against Napoli could be a ‘massive’ blow for Liverpool.

Fabinho looked to be in some discomfort after an awkward collision with Hirving Lozano in the 19th minute of the Champions League Group E clash and had to be replaced by Gini Wijnaldum.

Dejan Lovren cancelled out Dries Mertens’ first half strike with a powerful header in the 65th minute and the points were shared as the match ended 1-1.

Though the draw represented a setback for Liverpool in progressing into the last-16, Klopp appeared more concerned about Fabinho’s injury in his post-match interview.

‘The Fabinho injury is massive,’ the German told BT Sport.

‘That’s the biggest thing from tonight. It’s still early and we all hope it’s not too serious but it’s pretty painful in an area you don’t want to have pain.

‘We will have to see. That’s our biggest problem right now.’

At his post-match press conference, Klopp added: ‘He has pain so that’s not good.

He could not continue and he’s a really hard one so, yeah, I don’t want to say what I expect because I hope that it’s not that serious.

But we will know more tomorrow, maybe the day after tomorrow. We will see.’

Jordan Henderson is confident Liverpool remain in a ‘decent’ position in the group despite being held to a draw at Anfield.

‘We’d have liked to have won tonight to finish the job off,’ the Liverpool captain said.

‘Napoli made it difficult. We’re still in a decent position.

‘They’re a good team with good players. There were times when we played good stuff. We were searching for the second one but couldn’t find it.

‘In the second half I thought there was only one team who was going to win. There was a question of a foul – you probably know better than me.’
