Jurgen Klopp outlines where Liverpool need to improve with "Disneyland" comparison

Jurgen Klopp believes his side can still do better in controlling matches despite having won three games out of three in the Premier League so far.

After victories against Norwich and Southampton , Arsenal became Liverpool’s latest victims after they recorded a comfortable 3-1 win at Anfield.

Joel Matip put them ahead towards the end of the first-half before a Mo Salah double, his first from the penalty spot and his second following a sensational run, ended the game as a contest, despite Lucas Torreira getting a late Arsenal consolation.

Despite being happy with the result Klopp said he would have preferred his team to keep the ball better, and used Disneyland to highlight his point.

Jurgen Klopp salutes the Liverpool fans at the end of the match

“If we could have controlled the game better, that remains our real challenge,” Klopp said after the match.

“It doesn’t happen often but if it happens when you are 3-0 up or 4-0 against Norwich… Arsenal didn’t really press any more. They were deep and together, and we kept passing the ball to their legs. It made no sense.

“The last 10 minutes I saw the possession – 53 to 47 or something like that – but over 80 minutes it must have been completely different. For 80 minutes we were completely in charge of the game. We are not Disneyland, we do not need to excite everyone in every second.

“We were still in attacking mood (towards the end), so we have to prepare these moments better. We have a lot to improve, but it was a big step tonight as well.”

Liverpool’s next match is a trip to Burnley next Saturday, and Klopp is not underestimating Sean Dyche’s team as he looks to continue the Reds’ 100 per cent record this season.

He added: “We will have another week of training and then we go to a very difficult place in Burnley, I couldn’t have any more respect for what they are doing there.

“Burnley playing at home is another level as well, that will be really tricky.
