Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota are both available for Liverpool’s clash with Watford on Saturday, but the Reds will be without Brazil duo Alisson Becker and Fabinho.

Alexander-Arnold has missed Liverpool’s last two games against Porto and Manchester City with a groin injury he sustained last month, which also saw the right-back ruled out of England’s World Cup qualifiers against Hungary and Andorra.

Meanwhile, Jota, who was sent back to the Merseyside club after suffering a muscle problem while away with the Portugal national team earlier this week, has also been declared fit to play.

In a pre-match press conference, Klopp said that both players are available for selection, while a decision on Spanish midfielder Thiago, who hasn’t played since September due to a calf injury, will be made closer to the match.

‘Trent and Diogo are available. Thiago, I don’t know. It takes time. It’s disappointing, but we’ve known for a few days now. We have to wait,’ he said.

The German boss also confirmed that Liverpool would be without Alisson and Fabinho for Saturday’s early kick off after the two players featured in the Brazil squad for their game against Colombia in the early hours of Friday morning.

Liverpool had asked the FA for their game against Watford to be moved to a later start time to enable the two players enough time to return to England, but that request was rejected.

‘We’ve known it for a while. The boys will not be here, they will go directly to Madrid,’ Klopp added.

‘I’m not frustrated – somebody decided to give Brazil the opportunity to play last night, then somebody made a decision for us to play at 12:30 [on Saturday]. It is out of our hands. We can’t control it.’
