Jung Joon Young dropped by agency after admitting to filming women without consent

Jung Joon Young has been dropped by his agency after admitting to filming women in sex acts without their consent.

The singer and TV star was accused of sharing illegally recorded footage in a chatroom with other celebrities, including Big Bang star Seungri, earlier this week.

The 30-year-old admitted to the accusations and announced he was retiring from the entertainment industry.

Now, his agency MAKEUS Entertainment has officially dropped him, after issuing Jung Joon Young’s apology on his behalf.

Their statement read: ‘Hello, this is MAKEUS Entertainment. This is a statement regarding Jung Joon Young.

‘Last night, Jung Joon Young sent his statement of apology to the agency, and we relayed Jung Joon Young’s statement without any modifications.

‘With this incident, the agency has judged that we can no longer maintain our contract with Jung Joon Young. As a result, the agreement was made to terminate the contract as of March 13, 2019 with singer Jung Joon Young, who signed with our label Label M in January 2019.

‘However, we feel a deep sense of responsibility for this incident that occurred due to an artist of our agency, and we will fulfill our duties until the end so that Jung Joon Young can diligently cooperate with investigations and trials as he revealed in his letter of apology. We once again express our apologies for causing trouble due to an unfortunate situation.’

This comes as it was confirmed Jung Joon Young will be investigated as a suspect tomorrow, 14 March, for violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, Etc. of Sexual Crimes by sharing secretly recorded footage of sexual acts.

The 2 Days and 1 Night star said in a statement: ‘I admit to all of my sins that have been reported. I have filmed women without consent and have distributed in social media chat rooms, and I’ve felt no guilt while doing so.

‘As a public figure, it was a very careless act worthy of criticism. I kneel on my knees and want to apology to the women in the videos who’ve faced the disgusting truth through this case and feel anger beyond disappointment and shock.’

He then announced he was leaving the programs he was currently on and would cease any current promotions.

‘I will not take time of reflection but will let go of everything as a public figure, and look back at my unethical, unlawful acts which are considered a crime for the rest of my life,’ his apology continued.

‘Out of all, I want to apologise to the women who were harmed by my acts, to those who went beyond disappointment and felt anger, and to those who made me a public figure and cared for me. I will properly participate in the investigation which is set to start on the morning of the 14th with all honesty. I will take all the punishment for my crime.’

Seungri has been booked for separate allegations; the Big Bang star is accused of providing escorts for foreign investors and VIP clients.

YG Entertainment have terminated Seungri’s exclusive contract ahead of him also being investigated on 14 March.
