Josie Gibson smacked in face by stinging nettle in awkward This Morning moment

This Morning star Josie Gibson was smacked in the face by a stinging nettle during Friday’s show after falling into a bush.

The 36-year-old roving reporter was on hand to try and make a lucky viewer £1,000 richer with the return of Dosh On Your Doorstep.

Throughout the episode, the former Big Brother winner teased her mystery location.

Hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond spoke to Josie multiple times to try and guess where she is.

However, things took an hilarious turn when Josie spoke to the presenters just before she revealed her location.

As she chatted to Dermot and Alison live on air, she accidentally fell into a bush full of stingy nettles.

Josie, who was hiding behind a tree, pretended to creep around and ended up getting banged in the face by a stinging nettle.

Dermot and Alison gasped as they watched the mother of one try to get back on to her feet.

Josie hilariously yelled: “Stinger in the ringer” as the conversation came to an end.

Her accident didn’t put her off though as Josie appeared from the top of a tree when she next spoke to Dermot and Alison.

I Can See Your Voice star Alison shouted: “Be careful Josie, you’ve already stung yourself” as she watched her pal on camera.

It was later revealed that Josie was in Weston-super-Mare.

Josie is often causing chaos while delivering reports on the ITV daytime show.

She accidentally fell into a lake during a competition segment last week.

Back in the studio, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were almost in tears from laughter as Josie could be heard saying: “That wasn’t mean to happen! My mic is really expensive.”

Josie continued to remain as professional as possible given the situation and continued to get through the rest of the segment.

This Morning kept rolling as the presenter was being lifted out the water so she could get back onto the inflatable obstacle course.

Holly then asked if Josie was okay before Phil said: “This is not the most dignified!”

Josie was full of apologies after getting back on the obstacle course and admitted she had an angry soundman telling her off.

She said: “I am so sorry, my sound man is so angry with me, very expensive piece of kit on my back.”

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV
